 Purple Sprouting Broccoli with Chilli and Almonds

300g purple sprouting broccoli
2 cloves garlic
1 fat green chilli
50g blanched almonds
olive oil for frying
1tblsp lemon oil or 1tblsp olive oil and squeeze of lemon juice.
1tsp lemon zest


Halve broccoli stems.
Peel and slice garlic.
Deseed and slice chilli.
Roughly chop almonds.
Bring large pan of salted water to boil.
Heat dash of olive oil in large frying pan and toast almonds until golden.
Tip onto a plate to cool..
Meanwhile cook broccoli in the boiling water for 3-5 mins until just tender,
Add garlic and chilli to the frying pan adding a little more oil if needed.
Fry until golden.
Drain broccoli and add to frying pan-it should sizzle, then toss in the lemon oil or olive oil and lemon juice, and a little salt.
Tip onto a warm serving plate and scatter with the almonds.
